Pulled the trigger on an eBay Excalibur.......

Should be able to get a good buy one right now . With new lime green that just came out ..HEY good luck with it . I love mine, and happy hunting ,,,,, Guzz1

Thanks, I think I got a good deal ($715), it's a good chunk of change but I'l defray the cost when I sell my 6000 di pro sl. The Excal 1000 was just overhauled by the Vegas Minelab service guys. I think it helped that they just released the new lime. The seller sounds like a good guy and for all I know may be a regular here. I can't post the ebay link, so here's the text:

Up for bid is a Minelab Excalibur metal detector that was completely refurbished this fall at the Minelab USA service dept.in Las Vegas. This unit has all new circuit boards,a new control tube housing,a new battery, the newest yellow headphones (which are much better fitting than all models before them) a custom made new stainless steel arm rest with a velcro strap & it was pressure tested & guaranteed by Minelab to be waterproof. There is a 10" Minelab Tornado coil which attaches to a custom made (yellow) short shaft which can be detached from the lower shaft & used scuba diving. Also included is an owner's manual & a wall charger. This detector is in excellent working condition & the only used parts on it are the upper & lower shafts along with the coil.I'll guarantee that this detector will work flawlessly & be found in the condition as stated above or I'll refund your entire payment.Buyers outside the USA must have a Paypal account & shipping outside the USA will be based on destination. Thanks for looking.

Snook, congratulations on your purchase. I recovered more than enough treasure with mine to cover the cost of my Excalibur 1000 in just a few short months, and that was years ago. I'm still pulling the stuff from ocean and beaches ;D

Tom

Got it yesterday, it's in good shape. Charged the battery last night and did some yard testing and it works good too. I'm probably hitting the beach this afternoon after fishing and see what's what. :)

;) Congrats on the excal purchase ,, Your gonna love it . Took mine out this morning ,finds were meager but still was a good day . I have had my excal for a couple of months now ,, just went to straight shaft ..Only way to go or chest mount it, either or ,, Happy Hunting Guzz1

Got back from Brooks Beach (GreenTurtle) on Hutchinsons Island, about 3.5 miles south of Ft. Pierce. The machine worked great but the beach was loaded with new non-target sand. Also, you couls hardly breath down there, I think the red tide is in big time, stinging eyes, coughing, the whole deal.

The Excal is no light weight either, I may have to look into a straight shaft like you talked about Guzz. That beach doesn't get much traffic I think. My sister picked it out, she and her husband Steve picked up a Whites Surfmaster, it's a nice machine. But no doubloons for us today. I told her that we need a beach with a bathroom and/or restaurants/bars to get a target rich environment. We'll save the treasure beach searches for storms.

I like the Ecal 1000. Very user friendly and goes deep in the wet sand, no falsing. I planted a couple deep in a beach farther down the road after I left my sister, and it pinged on them big time. I can see this machine as a ring getter. All in all a very solid machine. :)

Hey Snook, Don't feel bad , Its bad all over from what I'm reading.I was out 5 + hours Today Hardly any targets to dig what so ever . I came home with very little clad no rings No gold . Its that time a year Buddy. Don't get discouraged though , The tickets will come . Just go out and hunt.. Also you want to straight shaft or chest mount the excal which you should do ASAP . Mark at Florida straight shaft is a great guy honest and will take care of you 100%.. Get that controller behind the elbow , you'll be able to swing all day with no pain. That's what I did , Best money I ever spent .. Take care And go get the gold :D Guzz1

HEY SNOOK This is what I did in about 8 hours of hunting pretty bad ,, but I didn't get skunked >:(
