Yesterday I went to a small operation to preform a pull test. This is something I'm required to do as a vendor who sells the anchors, which are called split sets or friction bolts, which were introduced I believe around the late 1970s by Ingersoll Rand. Today there are a handful of manufacturers of this design. The miners here are mostly young eager to learn fellas. One of the miners looks to be checking his Facebook as I loaded up my tester and he'll nip it to the area were the splits were fitted with the special collars that allow us to hook up the pull tester. I have to walk to the area and dang this main portal is pretty low and I ain't used to walking bent down so much these days. They have a couple Eimco 12B muckers, which I still recall getting parts for when I worked for Tamrock after they acquired the company EJC which sands for Eimco Jarvis Clark. That was around 1993-94 when I worked there, but I quit after they said I was to be transferred to Atlanta back around when the company was acquired by Sandvik Mining. It was a pretty fun day up there yesterday and the weather was great. So far its been a pretty peaceful winter up in the Rockies. Today I'll be heading over to the Western slope on a quick trip to get there and back before a predicted storm hits Colorado.
