hello!

I was wondering if any of you brilliant minds here can help me out with any info on the city of Puerto vallarta. I will be vacationing there next year and plan to bring my detector.

I am wondering if any of the Manilla galleons to or from the phillipines ever stopped at the Puerto vallarta beach? I have a map of the Spnish trade routes and it looks as if they may have stopped in acapulco?

Thanks for any info on the topic!

Puerto Vallarta's Old Town has a rich and colorful history. Throughout the 1500 and 1600's, pirates and Spanish galleons visited this quaint fishing village to take on fresh supplies and water. In 1851 Puerto Vallarta was born under the name Las Peñas de Santa Maria de Guadalupe. It was an important port, supplying salt and other needed supplies to the nearby silver mines.

BTW, Acapulco was the starting and final ending point for the Manilla galleon trade.
