Proud owner of my first ever Fisher a 1236X2

And I must say my first time straying out side the box (whites) I like what i see.No fancy bells and whisles,and screens.Got to admit got spoiled owning a Spectrum XLT as my first detector.The 1236 came yesterday and its a sweet little detector,can't wait for weather get cooler and see what she can do.

That baby will do a lot as it is a supped 1235. You know you can take that thing to the beach with you but you will do better with a larger coil.

I read about the 1236 x2 but do not know much about them ..Question.. Are they silent search or do they have a threshold sound...and.. are they multi tone or just one tone

Silent search and one tone. When you get into different tones to ID the target it is wrong just like a screen lies to you.

Well, thats not always the case i think, the tones do a better job on a target than a TID screen but here's the thing about tones and single tone and disc if you have a big piece of iron its going to break through and on a 4 tone machine the high tone will break through so there are different variances you got to consider multi tone listen to everything and know the size of target and goes the same with single tone as well on target size, now depth wise multi tone machines can change there tone's usually going lower if it's really deep and thats where you got to pay attention on how strong the signal is to

Now i had a single tone detector no screen it was a Garrett freedom 2 detector........ With that single tone and no screen detector ....................I found more with that detector than i have found with my multi tone and screen and crazy numbers to mix my mind up ........I can't stand those numbers.............. Now the 1236 x2 was replaced by the Fisher F4 ............. but the 1236 x2 is a lot better detector than the F4 an IMO the 1236 X2 is better than the $1000.00 and up detectors.......

It actually has a threshold you can here when sensitivity is set at 10,otherwise it is considered silent detector.With the silencer off you here snaps and crackles as you past over bad or iffy targests.It rings in loud and strong on strong or good targets.Its right on target with VCO pinpointing,and its amazing on target separation.It lives up to what I have heard and read about it.She is definitely a keeper,it has the right feel for me.If this miserable hot weather ever gives up I'm going to have a blast with it I can just feel it.
