I spent most of my free time last year camping and digging for gold in the East Fork San Gabriel River. I was panning and sluicing. biggest piece I found was .5g. I have nice substantial amount of pickers, flakes and fly ****. Man, a couple of my friends that live there consistently find big nuggets. It is awesome being there, at the E.F. So much wildlife and natural beauty. I've seen some crazy **** there.
Now Im living in Oahu. I came out here to help my mom with some stuff and decided to stay for awhile. I do freelance graphic design so I can work from wherever I get Internet.
What kind of stuff is there to find here on the island? I know there isn't any precious metals in ground. no gold! I have the harbor freight metal detector. I used it at Newport Beach a few times didn't find anything good. And used it at the east fork a couple times, found some old mining star bit, old square nails, old file and a bottle opener with "Acme Brewing Co. Los Angeles" printed on it. I thinks its from the 40's. Anyway, the md works.
So metal detecting beaches. where else can I md?
Also heard about old bottles. Any other relic hunting?
peridot and olivine gem hunting?
looking forward to your info.
