Absolute proof! Almost certainly some advanced race made that Bic lighter. Not so advanced, however, as to know better than to smoke. Probably died out eons ago.

My first thought was Mexican or Central American. Looks decrative, maybe modern. Part of a wind chime, as Broken knee suggested, could be feasable.

This has me puzzling for some days...
I now think that it looks like a (very schematic) depiction of a person (maybe wearing a jewish priet's garments?) holding the tablets with the Commandments. Instead of a face this tablet-bearer has this crest-thing with a (radian) grape bunch in the middle.

The Holy Vine is a symbol of Christ in Christian symbolism.

Can anyone pick up the thread from this theory of mine?
