I dug these on a 1911 home site and were within 8 ft of each other. The dog tag is Virginia 1929 and the other thing after some poking around, is a part of an aluminum collapsible shot-glass. Reads-Silver Dollar Pure Rye. (btw, the closest I have come to a silver dollar ) It was folded over a bit, thought it was a piece of trash. From what I can tell, the piece is from around 1927. Sooooo, here is how I see it...guy is playing with his dog...pulls out his shot glass, looks around, takes a pull of whiskey, dog jumps up on him, drops his shot glass, he grabs the dog by the collar and the tag goes flying.
Now if only I can find his coin spill....
Thanks for looking!
