Several months back I recovered this 1920-1926 IRS Prohibition Agent Badge. The attachment pin is missing and there is no more plating or enameling left, just a nice patina. The number 1025 is stamped on the back and I understand there were 1520 agents originally assigned to this department under the Volstead Act, the beginning of prohibition in America. Not ready to get rid of it yet. Still doing research to find out who it belonged to and what happened to him. Some of these Agents died in the line of duty. Who knows, if the price is right when the research is done I might part with it. College tuition is creeping up fast.

BATFE might be a good place to start your search. Their public affairs office might help you. Neat find!
