Hey, fellow enthusiasts, it has been a rough, mind-utting winter so far in PA. During this winter, Silver Zeus, KirkPA, and I have had many metal detecting seminars over gallons of coffee. :D Through it all, we have stayed as strong as a metal detecting gibbon can be. :D

To make a long metal detecting story short, KirkPA ordered some Riker display cases off of Kellyco last week. I decided to use my two cases for preserving some of my artifacts.

These five coppas were found in the "Coronet Field:"

The Connect-i-cut coppa, dandy button, and 1700 coppa were found at two locations in our historic area:

Keep the fever high, fellow enthusiasts!

Those are AWESOME. I just want to hold one. I don't even know how "large" a large cent is...lol.

Very cool to see all those coppas' in one place :)

May your winter sabbatical end soon and the fields bloom full of coronets this spring :o

Impressive collection you got goin' there zb, I'm rollin' down to FL with Bates tonight. Got a show there tomorrow. Just logged on from here in my bunk and saw your post. You and Kirk sure have found some sweet coppas. Keep it up.

Kyle,
Those look great Man. I always like the looks of finds in display cases. Great looking coppa!

Looks good Kyle, be proud of displaying your finds!

I remember years ago a door prize at our SJMDC club meeting, someone, and I really am straining my memory on this one, since I think it was in the late 80's, anyway, someone donated a "money tree".

If I remember correctly it was a fancy stump of a little tree that was heavily shellacked and had old coppers and some silver embedded in the tree. Sort of like a nice display setup for a coffee table, it was not real big but it was a unique way of displaying some finds..
Maybe a piece of driftwood would work also, just a food for thought idea.... :)

Nice display of coins.

Tom...they are roughly the size of a half dollar. Quite a large cent isn't it. ;D

Kirk, thanks for the kind reply!

This year, we are hoping to find more coppers similar to these. My research will be placing us on 1790-1840 era sites, so they should be there.

Good luck to you and Jeff on the tour.

Thanks, everyone, for the sweet replies about my display cases. We are hoping to preserve many more in the near metal detecting future. :D

Keep the fever high!

Great display, I just ordered a bunch of Rikers, now if I can find some stuff to put in them!
