problem with my Compass Judge 2 working properly

Hello,
My first post. I own a Compass Relic Magnum 6 I bought used. It didn't work and I shipped to have it repaired. Received and still have problem with the sound. When 1st turn on nothing really happens other than the needle jumping. After about 5 minutes it starts to make a constant noise as if it's detecting something. I turned the turner knob and discriminate knob back enough for sound to go off but after a minute the constant sound comes back on. I continue this process until both knobs have been turned counter clockwise all the way and sound still comes back. Would like to find a solution and get fixed if possible. Thank you.

I had a judge 2 in the 80s - cant help you - circuits are probably shot if yours is 30 yrs old

Compass RM6 my first detector was a Nickle killer and a good machine ,. I had the same problem with it had it fixed a couple times then traded it in for a whites 6000. Your relic magnum is just that a....relic time to hang it on the wall and buy something new . a bottom line machine today will run circles around that old compass after all it's 40+ year or technology....
