Hey guys, I have a question about a backup detector that I have. It is a Titan 2000 XD that I've had in my garage for about 4 years. I've put in new batteries and it turns on just fine. The problem is that the only button on the panel that responds is the power button. I can't use any of the detectors other functions. I don't know if this happened as a result of the heat in the garage or what. Does anyone know if there is a way to reset this machine so that all of the buttons will function again? I hate to just throw it away. :o) Thanks guys.

Most likely a searchcoil gone bad the result of the unfavorable storage conditions.

I think (though I'm not sure) that the Titan has a 5 year mfr's warranty. If you bought the machine through "the K-company", twist their arm to see how they respond. They'll probably get it taken care of although not necessarily at no cost, I can't speak for them directly. If that doesn't work out for you, call Bounty Hunter 915-633-8354 during Mountain Time working hours, ask for BH customer service, and say Dave Johnson sent you. Since your warranty is probably in imminent danger of expiring if it hasn't already, please don't dawdle, take care of this now.

I've had this detector for 6 years and I bought it used. Looks like I may just trash it. Thanks for the info Dave.

Bfor u toss it & make nothing u could either part it out for someone making a project or WHO knows if it is the coil u might b able to pick one up real cheap $10 $15 on line might just be. Worth it rather then junk it

I'll probably keep it around. Like I said, it comes on fine. It seems to be stuck in all metal mode, but the coil is working. It can be used. I really think that the issue is in the control panel. That's why I was hoping there might be a way to "reset" the machine. I don't know......I'll keep tinkering with it.

Oh well thats not bad all metal is what alot of people use it does tend to get more depth for a back up its a keeper or if someone wants to go out with u loaner

Yeah, I'll keep it around. Sure wish it had a pin point feature. That's it's biggest drawback.
