problem showing dimes

i've had my GTI 1500 for just about a month now (had a gta 1000 for several years) anyway i've been taking notice in the field and even doing a bench test that dimes register as a penny on the screen...all other coins seem to register where they should, its only dimes that seem off. while doing a bench test the only thing i could get to register as a dime was a 1/2 cent. my old gta 1000 never had a problem like that. other than that the unit seems to work perfect, and the size imaging is working perfect too. has anyone else had a problem like this?

There is nothing wrong with your GTI as mine does the same thing. The dime and penny are very close in conductivity so they show up about the same most times. Now Wheats come in differently as do IH's.

thanks for the response. i thought maybe it was just this machine and that it might need to be recalibrated or something. I was on the fence whether to send it back to garrett to get looked at. i dig all penny hits anyway so i'm not missing the dimes either.

My Garrett GTI 1500 also reads the dime coin as a one cent coin. I think they are both made of the same metal................... So they both read the same ....................
