Found this on the uplands sitting in a patch of dirt under some trees, nearest rocks were little angular fragments of limestone, the bedrock is limestone with some sandstone and shale, I don’t know what it would be but it just looks man made, if it’s not it’s the most uniform rock I have ever found... thoughts?

... oh and the last three are 90 deg turns just to show there’s not even a fat or narrow side

Looks like a near perfect skipping stone though.

I see no evidence of it ever being altered or used by man.

My thoughts too but it is just so out of place where I found it and so symmetrical I thought maybe it was some kind of artifact I’ve never heard of oh well it wouldn’t be the first or last odd rock I pick up

I may add there are no streams or anything in the area that produce stones like this. It’s all weathered limestone shale and sandstone.

I actually wonder sometimes how many knives, preforms or other similar artifacts have been picked up and thrown in ponds and rivers by clueless people thinking they would skip well
