Went to a local city with a big park and detected the tot lots and pavilion areas. I found a pretty sterling ring with green and clear stones (CZ's) in the lawn surrounding the pavilion. It is marked "SS/ .925" inside.

I also unearthed (un-barked) from the tot lot an interesting crucifix pendant with the stamping "3YWLO," a mystery to me. The pendant is most likely chrome over brass. If anyone can decipher the stamping I would be much obliged.

Rounded out the hunt with the usual goodies, a Boy Scout neckerchief slide, a Matchbox car, and about $8.00 in clad for charity. Thanks for looking, Happy Hunting and Merry Christmas to all!

Nice digs Sub, you are doing great for being landlocked in MO.

3YWLO. This is the 5 digit code which was assigned to GI Jewelry by the U.S. Government as an identifier of who they are and the religious jewelry that they make.

Nice ring, love finding the ones with stones, real or not, the more real the better of course.

Wow! Thanks Loco, I just "larnt somethin'!" Of course I would really enjoy returning this pendant to its rightful veteran owner, but I know it may be impossible. I don't know about you up in Ohio, but I wasn't feeling my fingertips and toes by the end of the hunt today at 1600 hours. Winter is a'comin' !!! Sub 8-)
