As one who has dealt with the electrical systems on British cars (Austin-Healy and MG's) I can certainly explain the warm beer over there: LUCAS Refrigerators!
It was funny, very funny. Sometimes we Americans can't or don't understand the often dry humor of our over the pond relatives. Or warm beer. Or Sting for that matter.
