I went on a nice hunt today, the first target huge dandy button. I got a weird nail signal, every now and then a higher number would interrupt iron. I dig I see a huge brass button in the hole, right next to it is a big nail. Next find was a musket ball. Later I found a nice pewter button. I decided to dry a muddy area next to a stream, considering how dry it has been it was easier to metal detect. I got a nice zinc signal on my metal detector, I was thinking musket ball. Next thing I know a "button" pops out of the whole. I am looking at the design when I notice that the back it perfectly flat with now evidence a shank was ever there. No less than two feet away I got a lower tone, that turned out to be a colonial tombac button. Another two feet in the other direction I found a chunk of iron. I shortly left with a feeling of satisfaction.
The coin looks to be either a counterstamped copper or coin weight, any help It is very thin, if coin weight could it mean, "two in a halfpenny" it seems like it weighs roughly the same as half a halfpenny
