I got off of work with only an hour or so to hunt. A friend of mine was clowning me about the shovel in the back of my truck. He said "that thing hasn't seen any dirt, why? I bet it's because you can't figure out how to put gas in it." Ha Ha! I told him to show me how to start it up, and work it. So, we went digging. Surprised me that we found any thing. We did pretty good.

And I don't know what that is?? It's different and looks worked some. Possible that I've looked at it too long. Cool looking though.

you sure keep finding stuff almost every day
what kind of material is the majority of it it looks pretty common for the areas you hunt?

Most of the material is rhyolite. We also have quartzite, lots of quartz and some flint/chert. Flint is harder to find. I normally find it along water in VA.

Nice Rusty. Real nice for an hour!
Do you think that hafted one could be a hoe?

Doesn't have the smooth wear on the reverse side, normally visible on hoes as well as scrapers. It may be a crude made chopper, or make shift Celt like tool.

Nice job Rusty. I havent ever tried to do a dig. Maybe one day if the owner says its ok.
