We went to an old house site that has been bulldozed and picked up a few bottles and in digging with a potato rake came upon this brass escutcheon plate in locked position.the keyhole is tee-niney,wonder what it could have come from ?

Not saying it is but I'm leaning towards a kitchen or dining area piece.

I think its a lock from the 18-19th century. It Looks like one at least! Very intricate with detail! Nice find! ~TheButtonKing

very ornate, pretty cool find

Very fancy piece C.G. I like it!

I think I know what it goes to know,an old ice chest! Several friends of mine have found these, some not as ornate but by golly I think the mystery is solved! Thanks for the input guys.
