I like my auctions to close on Sunday.

I sold a bangle I got for $5.40 (14K, clearly marked) for $200.

I sold these necklaces that I picked up for $9. tonight. I was originally going to give them to my little girls. However, I decided to try listing them once. I was freaking out. I had tons of watchers, and both of them got into a bidding war. One went for $75, the other $90! I really thought there was some mistake. But nope. I just didn't realize how high they would go.

I am so itching to go to Good Will for another jar. I found a broken 10K bracelet and one big 14K earring in the last one!

I have to tell you guys about the gold I found -- I got 3 jars a couple of weeks ago, $55 for 2, and $35 for the third. I had a 20% off coupon, you do the math. At the bottom of one of the jars was a baggie with gold teeth in it! Gross. I scrapped it for $186, which more than paid for the jars. I sold one of the brooches in it for $50. I have a bunch of other stuff that was given in to consignment shops. Haha, my jewelry is working for me while I am not even there. :-)

PS- Around here at the Goodwills, you'd be lucky to find a cheap plastic bangle bracelet for sale, much less jars full of jewelry.

Nice work!

Same here... never seen a jar or bag at a thrift store.

Only have bags of jewelry at my local GW. 99.999% costume jewelry. Still some nice pieces on occasion. Found a dainty 14K bracelet once. Not really worth the $10-15 investment per bag, though.

Nice! What were the necklaces that sold for much more than you thought?

I thought that they were cheap junky necklaces. My 11 year old wanted them. Surprise, surprise, surprise! I'll pull up some pictures.

Both the earrings and necklace were $9 plus tax.

I'm still awaiting payment on this one (it's from the one with the gold teeth):

I found this in one of the jars the day I got the gold teeth (I had bought three; 2 were great, one was a dud)

I'll post pictures of what I found today. Give me a minute to take a few. The stuff is spread out on my dining room table. Please don't come visit me! LOL. We have awesome jars here!!!

I don't want to make anyone jealous. I am just so excited. This was an unbelievable jar.
This is the gold:
The bracelet is from the other jar. But I tossed it in. The earrings are clearly marked 14K. The ring is not marked silver, but stones just shine too much to be glass. My friend wants me to show this to a jeweler to get his opinion. The bangles are probably costume. They did not test out to be gold, but one did test for silver.

This is all cleaned up and ready to go to the consignment store:

More costume stuff, a plated bracelet, a really, really good fake silver bracelet (DY knock off) and an Avon necklace that is in perfect conidtion with rhinestones.

The is the sterling silver, a toggle bracelet with ball charms, a silver bracelet with CZs (I think, it's 925 Thailand and NAN, which I didn't look up yet), a silver one with red stones, but one stone is missing, a 925 chain, another thin silver bracelet, a SS bracelet with matching ring; not sure what those blue stones are ... might be resin?

Last, but not least, a working watch in perfect order:

I had two things that got tossed into the garbage. Very few things went into the jar I want to sell on Craigslist for beads and jewelry supplies. A bunch of stuff is set aside for fall consigning, because of the color.

make sure to check your aterling with a rare earth magnet, lots of fake silver out there

We did. I have 3 of them actually! One silver chain was not magnetic at the clasp where it said 925, the rest was sticky. That one is not out there. Nothing there sticks.
