I was so happy when I found this 3 ringer civil war bullet at a beach 4inches deep in grass dirt sand.
Was a dime signal. I never found one and felt so great!
Does anyone know the name of this kind of bullet? It's also bigger than the ones my buddy found in the past.
Have a great hunting weekend guys.

Sweet find!

Nice find. Search that area good. I'm sure there are many more.

Yea my buddy that detected with me today got himself a first there also. It was in great condition and was a 1 ringer!

Commonly called a Minie ball after the guy who invented it. If it's larger than "normal" it may be a .69 calibre . . . fired from older muskets . . . usually Confederate because they had less sophisticated arms. If you look in the hole in the base, does it constrict to a "point"*like a pyramid, or does it have a flat spot at the deepest point? (Slightly smaller than a pencil eraser?) If flat, probably a .69. Calipers will tell you . . .
