RSCN2341.JPGRSCN2339.JPGDSCN2364.JPG Found this "green" (no, not obsidian :) ) along with the agates that I found in front property yesterday, anyone know what it is?

The green part is also quartz? First time I've seen it like that here.

Do a hardness test on that green stuff, it doesn't look lite quartz to me. I'm not sure what it might be though.

OK EU....so that would be...hitting it with a hammer? lol .....how would you suggest doing that please? It doesn't scratch off with my finger nail, does that count?

Are you sure the 'green' is rock? Might be some copper deposit.

looks to me like you may have some agate-the smaller ones anyway. they will be harder than the quartz. look to see if there is any fire in the agates.

I took a look at the great site EU posted and tested the hardness with a knife, couldn't seem to really scratch it with that, seems pretty hard. The thickness? Can't really tell other than what it looks like, sort of thick. Haven't seen any copper around here, but that doesn't mean there isn't any. First time I've seen this type of "green" rock here.

We do have fire agates here Marinedad, but not in this rock. Looks like crystal in there. Here's the pic. of my fire agate.....FSCN2108.JPG

I guess without letting someone knowledgeable see it in person we might not get a proper ID here.

Yes EU, think you're right, but that's alright....it can stay just an "odd stone", I'll still enjoy it ....and thank you for trying to help :)
