Hi,
My friend found this on rocks on a beach & we believe it to be a pressure relief valve of a boiler. The area it was found in has several shipwrecks, gold mining & also an old railway line.
As there is a shipwreck carrying railway iron supposedly lost in the area, we think it could either be part of the ship or perhaps a locomotive that may have been part of the cargo.
Or perhaps it was part of a goldmining facility.
We would appreciate any feedback as to what this could be from. One interesting thing is the bits of wiring that were underneath which could possibly provide a hint as to how old it could be.
Perhaps it is a washed up WW2 relic ?

I think your very close...it does appear to be a pressure relief valve of some sort. Possible a boiler or other tank that broke free of a wreck and floated to shore. Looks heavy! Ddf.

My friends found found these additional artefacts in the vicinity of the first find. A (presumablly) valve weight & a dog spike
