...if we stayed a minute longer another Hurricane would brew in the golf and start heading towards us!...

We "had" a condo in Florida for many many years! Every hurricane season I would live on NOAA's Hurricane Center Tropical Weather Page! Fortunately, we have family down their and after a storm they would check out our condo. Only had real damage once (a few years ago). Anyway - the drive became toooo much for the wife so we just sold it last month. I feel a great relief - no longer worrying about Hurricanes but sadness as well because we really enjoyed the few months of golfing everyday and enjoyed the daily consumption of sun sun sun! :(

Best of luck with the move. As a youngster I lived in Texas and Oklahoma and every year we were going through tornado season. Black clouds overhead that looked like they hung about 100 ft. off the ground. The humidity was so high you couldn’t breath. Then the tornados had us all running for the storm cellar. I don’t miss it one bit.

Good luck Goldielocks.....stay safe and show us some pics of your new state when you arrive. May new treasures be in your future !!

I am originally from Tornado-ville Minnesota. I spent about 30 of the last months checking out states to consider retiring in as well as persuing an advanced Art drgree. In the end I saw, northern CA again, NM, AZ, SC, GA, and FL. I had lived for 23 years in OR before that.
With short stints in TN, PA and San Fran outer bay area when I was married to an airline pilot many years ago.
I am very burned out on traveling. I will be in MN for 3 weeks to make my annual trek to visit 80-yesr old mom before flying to Reno, NV. I still would want a no snow location, but it may take another year to get there? Outer Henderson, NV maybe?

Good luck to you wherever your travels take you!

Good luck there are many awesome places to move to. Searchlight AZ is pretty awesome also. Time to have fun relax and enjoy life...Tommy
