My Dad used this soap tray for years. He was an antique dealer and goodness knows where he got this. Any thoughts on age? Value? Creepiness?

Oh, feel free to critique the piece or my Dad's taste. When you see this thing in person, you wonder what some people were thinking!

Don't laugh - that's a early (late 19th C - early 20th) (Art Deco Bronze)calling card tray with devil motif. In that condition, may be worth $300+. Any markings on the back?
Nice piece!

Oh my Lord...and it's in my Christian house! Thanks for the replies (and the motivation to sell it quickly!).

Why? I'd keep it and tell my children that if they're bad, you going to put their name on a card an put in the devil tray! :laughing7:

That sound like what the babysitters my mother would get for me and my brother would tell us when we'd give her hell. She would tell me the devils watching me. I was like where is he? I thought he was in a tower or something with binoculars watching me, because I'd look for him and couldn't see him anywhere around. She had me going on that one, until I caught on the devil ain't nothing to be to concerned about. That babysitter could never win with me and my brother.

I would definitely be selling that thing even if my father had it. Super creepy !! Not sure about bad spirits being attached to objects but I wouldn't be taking any chances. My vote is get rid of it (no offense to your father or his taste in antiques).

Well, it's on eBay ( Devil Calling Card Tray Cleaned Bronze Brass Art Deco 1890 1930 | eBay ). I really don't like this thing in my house. I am a Christian and do not believe in good/bad luck and superstitions, but certain inanimate objects (hmm, like golden calves) do not uphold my principles and beliefs. Anyway, let's have fun and see how much this goes for. My guess is $100.
