Prediction: Silver Will Go to Parity With Gold

NEVER HAPPEN UNLESS THEY SHUT DOWN ALL THE SILVER NINES.
BESIDES BEING USED AS A HEDGE AGAINST INFLATION GOLD IS THE BEST CONDUCTOR OF ELECTRICY THAT DOES NOT OXIDISE. AND NOW THAT COINS ONLY CONTAIN A SYMBOLIC AMOUNT OF SILVER, THE GAP WILL PROBABLY WIDEN.

Cleaning for Your Silver Chain

Silver-chains require a daily care routine. You should clean the chain using a lint free fabric each day after wearing it. If you have been wearing perfume close to the chain, then you should first wash the chain with water, pat it dry and then polish it with the cloth. If you follow this daily routine, it will help you clean excess dirt, fingerprints and oil from the chain. After a week of use, you should use cleaning solution that is free from ammonia and has a balanced PH level along with ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning. This will make sure that the surface of the chain is clean from any dirt, lotions, oil and perfume. A thin brush should be used to clean the chain. If the chain has a very intricate design like a snake or a rope chain, using a brush will help you clean better. Silver jewellery should be stored in a dry, dark place and must be kept away from sunlight, heat and humidity. They require air circulation and must be stored in such a way that it gets space from other jewellery. Do not store them covered with other jewellery on top of it. This will help you avoid any scratches and will provide you chain enough air circulation. Do not store or wrap in unlined jewellery boxes made from wood, cardboard, cotton, plastic wrap or paper. If the silver chain is tarnished, use polishing pads that can be easily found anywhere. Polishing pads are generally embedded with micro abrasives. These help eliminate tarnish or excess dirt. Ensure that you only get good quality polishing pads for cleaning them.

Sounds like silver chains are a pain in the neck [LOL] to take care of. Just think of how much work you can get out of by not wearing them!

I doubt that Silver and Gold will ever be of equal value but I do think that Silver is still a better investment right now.

I posted this back in July and I still think silver has some legs to it to go much higher.

I've also hear a very good natural resources portfolio manager state that the DJIA and the price of gold per ounce will cross paths. For this to happen both the DJIA would have to take a huge dip and gold would have to skyrocket.

It is fun to dream though and anything is possible.

Mike,
I've been following silver many years now. I remember in the mid 60's it was around $1.50 a ounce when gold was running $35. If one wisely follows what is going on in precious metals and our economy it would be a good idea to invest. I don't know if it will reach parity, but it would be smart to invest in. The way things are going these days, anything is possible!
They are printing money that soon will not be worth the paper they're using. It's happened around the world in the past where a wheel barrow full of paper money could not buy you a loaf of bread.

The European "expert" opinion is that silver will never catch up in our lifetimes but could prove the better investment choice long term.

I think they could be right with the present gold rush settling down when matters in North Africa resolve. The trouble with either investment is that prices often remain the same or drop over years and you money is tied up in something that doesn't earn interest. Even present high gold prices don't look so good after the effect of inflation has been allowed for.

All the gold mined in the world in history would fit in a cube 60 feet on each side.

Lots more silver than that.
