Lots of neat finds, especially all those eyeball ones!

Seeing all the sand and dirt reminds me of Ray from Vegas. Has anyone heard from him? He was routinely posting some great stuff on here up till the end of last year.

Is that a soap dish? That is cool whatever it is. Love the marbles!!!!:icon_thumleft:

Wow, neat finding that dog tag. Alot of variety in that WWII dump

Thanks Pointman... Yes, the last time I heard from Ray he mentioned his daughter or niece was ill. I cant remember which but he was pretty down.

Great stuff as usual - I found a similar large aluminum St. Christopher badge like that in Santa Fe some years ago - figured it
was Biker adornment . Nice (Yeah , where is RayRay Las Vegas ?)

The thread seems to be overlooking perhaps the most valuable item; the service tag. The spelling of the town Abernathy is wrong but that is not what makes this tag so 'valuable'. The tag belongs to Olus E. Price who just happened to have been awarded the Silver Star for action in 1942. Here you can read his citation:
Valor awards for Olus E. Price
And here you can read about his vital statistics:
Olus E Price - Fort Bliss Military Reservation El El Paso Texas | 1940 United States Census
I believe you would have little difficulty finding, through research, either the man himself (though he'd be in his 90s today) OR one of his kin.
I also believe you would experience shared pleasure in returning the tag to anyone in his family.
Don......

The search just got harder...

Texas Yankee,
That soldier's death may, actually, now make your hunt easier.
You can now find his LIVING next of kin or friends from the obituary; and, no doubt, the government will have a lot of info on this hero.
Go for it ! I've returned two, one to the soldier himself (WW II Battle of the Bulge, etc.) and another posthumously, to his daughter.
Don...
