PRALINES (Praw-leans):

2 cups of sugar

1 cup of buttermilk

1/2 teaspoon soda

1 pinch of salt

2 Tablespoons clear Karo Syrup

2 Tablespoons butter or margarine

2 1/2 cups pecans (puh-cahns)

Cream sugar, milk, soda, salt and Karo. Boil 5 minutes, stir often. Add butter and pecans. Stir for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool for 1 minute. Beat until creamy and drop by teaspoon onto wax paper. Let cool 1 hour before removing from paper. Store in a cool place
 

I just bought me a puhcan pie last night. I would have held out if I knew you were going to print this. I only allow myself to indulge in puhcan pie this time of year....Steve
 

Well Miss Gypsy,

I thought about trying to make this with Splenda but after the goeey disaster I encountered with my butter icing on the Sugar-Free Merry Cherry cookies...I'm not sure if I'm up to attempting it.

Why don't you try it and let me know how it turns out! ::)
