Spotted an old water hydrant a few weeks ago way out in a field. Got permission on the phone through a friend that knows the owner. Had about an hour to swing around, so off I went. Found 4 wheats close to the water hydrant. Also found a first, a lead ingot. It’ll make a great paper weight cleaned up. The wheats dates are- 1950s,1922d,1949d,1938. Thanks for looking and..............

Happy Hunting!!!!

Cool finds!
Jon 8-) :cat: :occasion14: :headbang:

That well pump was put there for a specific reason Randy, I'd be interested know what the history is of the site. :icon_scratch:
Your finds are all relatively modern, but I think the site has more secrets to reveal.

I'd do a Google Maps overview of the area to see what else is in the vicinity, if I were you I'd head back before the grass pops up.

Awesome finds you know there was activity thats awesome. I remember some one posted finding stacks of lead ignots by a river and when they cleaned them I dont know if they were gold or what cause that person never posted again.....just a thunk

Paper weight ? That thing looks like its gonna be a door stop ! Nice finds.

From talking to the current owner, there was a house there in the 30’s. I’ll definitely look at the spot on Google. Thanks for suggesting it.

Ok, I may have taken it a little out of context as a paper weight :) I only had it in my pouch for about 20’ and then I took it out and stuck it by the pump until I was done. Had my Pouch and everything else headed to the ground. It is heavy.

Nice set of finds. The 1922-D is a scarce date.

I was wrong. When I read Your post I rechecked and it’s a 1923d:( Used a tooth pick to get the dirt off so it was more visible. Next Time!
