Finally starting to trust the Deus. As a base mode "hot" mode seems to work great for around here and just tweaking it as needed works well finding I like used the xy screen setup. Went over a permission I've gone over a good amount of times with the AT Pro managed to find mostly junk but pulled a couple semi interesting deep things my AT Pro missed. Pulled a really deep huge window weightlts of deep junk iron, got a lot of bullets and one that looks a bit older, some shotgun head stamps, a fuse top, some sort of shaker top, a brass what's it looks like some sort if buckle, a very twisted up Newport Silverplate fork that was way deep down, and just a lot of junk. The Deus XP is definitely showing promise just was hard for me to tell as around here I'd cleaned up with the AT Pro over the years. 20210720_161232.jpg20210720_160058.jpg20210720_160307.jpg20210720_160342.jpg20210720_160143.jpg20210720_160158.jpg20210720_160221.jpg20210720_160240.jpg20210720_160448_03.jpg20210720_160448_09.jpg20210720_160519.jpg

Also was a huge test of my patience and ability to endure. Central California has been unbearably hot day after day and today was much the same. Along with biting flies and mosquitoes all over I was not having a happy time but was stubborn.

Good to see you're getting out and digging things. Nice going on the buckle and relics. Well done.

The Deus likes that type of iron, and when it has a hole in it, but after a while you start to recognize the little loop back on the line, and not quite what it should be.
The way look at it is if I can learn just one thing every few hunts, the recoveries start to happen.
Seems that the AT Pro missed a few targets.

It missed a lot of deeper targets the Deus seems to cut through better depth wise and get clearer signals. I like to dig deep iron signals around here simply because they are often relics from the 1800s when it comes to around here so I often take my chances on those iffy ones on these properties.

I tell people to learn the GOLD FIELD program for extra depth.

You definitely earned those targets. Stay hydrated I know how hot it is as I'm just down the road from you.

Congrats! Learn the Deus well and it will be good to you on the relic sites...

The GOLD FIELD program is likely to give you ear fatigue so you probably need to run the IAR up and only work for a while each time and practice in a less trashy area. You can hear the broken tones of the ferrous and the nice Zip-Zip sound of non-ferrous. Also you can better check the target size and shape--small, sharp for gold. I recheck the deep targets with a side program. Many targets will not be detected in other programs. So you decide at that point to dig or not. An area producing good targets you probably want to dig nearly everything. Or another option is to put the GOLD FIELD as the side program and check for size and shape.

I'm sure you know how brutal the heat has been. I keep my body used to it. I'm out doing yard work and things like that all the time. But yes I know to be careful the heat has been extreme I know my limits and signs of heat exhaustion I get out when I know it's too much. It was a tough site that day the orchard had just been irrigated so lot of mosquitoes, biting flies, and humidity. Was so freaking miserable I said many inappropriate words due to the biting flies constantly harassing me and being frustrated lol.

The xp has been my go to machine for years now
It’s like learning a language
Challenge at first but it’s great once you master it ( not that I have )
But I love it good luck

Nice job, and up come some interesting finds. Learning the Deus has been challenging for me as well, especially with big deep iron. If that's part of what you're after - you've found the machine for it!
Enjoy and happy hunting!

Mosquitos, biting flies, heat, unbearable humidity, sounds like a usual Arkansas summer day!Just kidding, way to keep at it but be careful,I know from bitter experience that heat exhaustion can creep up on you before you know it.

Bug spray--don't leave home without it.

Deus can be hard for beginners but that machine will find gold better than it will silver it seems to me.

I'm finding it is definitely better than my AT Pro. I just had to learn how to set it up for whatever situation I'm in. Once I understood the basic functions and what each does it really isn't hard at all. I was having a hard time learning because my sites I cleaned out of all the targets that would of helped me practice. I found it is a beast at going through extremely trash filled spots when you know how to set it up. I really like it now but at first was furious with it.

Great finds - congrats !

I've had my Deus for 7 years - the most comfortable - swing all day machine I've ever used.
There's a lot of great programs out there but I use Gary's "Sifter" program over 90% of the time - for years.
It's not a deep program ( 6"-7") Dimes - but man is it killer in iron / junk metal sites !

Good Hunting !
