I have been piecing together a backpack dredge and am down to one last thing... the power jet. The pump I have is very small, only 1". I know that water pressure is the key to making the magic of a dredge work. Seeing as how the pump is so small, I am trying to figure out what the best size would be for the main tube with a 1" inlet. I am going to end up welding this myself, so any advice on angle or design would be immensely helpful!

Once I get this figured out, I'll be sure to post some pics of the gold I get with this dredge.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

Need more info on the pump. 1 inch tells me basically nothing.
What's the pump rated at? What's the pressure? Inlet/outlet, etc.
Trash pump or ?

Mabe Hoser will chime in as he's amazing at this kinda thing

Depends on how many GPMs and PSI your pump can generate. Not all pumps are the same. My 2" keen pump does great on my 4 inch dredge, but a cheap 2 inch trash pump wouldn't work anywhere close to the same.
