Hi all, today iwent back to the site where i have found some interesting relics and badges. I decided to hand dig as much area as possible. The main pit was quite shallow [3 feet] Armed with 5 gallons of water and large bucket and digging tool, set about plundering the dump. The water was too drink as it is still over 95 degrees. After 6 hours i can away with just about everything one would find in a dump pit, except gold. The soil is dry ashy and dusty and theres no need to sift.Keep the bottom of the hole clean and always dig to the bottom first.TO the pan or clay bottom.Well i found about 40 coins coppers most date between 1860-1920 9 silver coins all so grand, about 35 sterling silver forks and spoons and bits of and all hallmarked.discoloured by the dump being burnt.Bottle glass stoppers, few real old keys, hatbox lock 1890 few tokens and medals civil few early pontil bottles english black glass bottle ,3 piece long neck blue, local soda bottle embossed and a 1870 ale bottle.Lots of bits and pieces marbles clay and benningtons. here the pics of site and followed by finds.Whos going to help clean them all lol
