Pounded Detroit Park With The 800.. Update..
Got out this morning before it got hot, went to a Detroit park that has been detected hard for the last 30+ years. I went to a spot that I pounded with other name brand machines myself, I walked up under this big oak tree and got a choppy bottle cap signal at 5" so after digging the plug and checking it out with my pinpointer I found the choppy signal a rusty nail so I scanned the hole with the 800 again to hear a clean 20 vdi and there I pulled out an 1888 Indian head penny.
It just really amazes me how awesome this detector really is. I am really growing to love this machine. In the beginning I was sceptical but after getting to know the machine a little I have been pulling some keepers from some of the most pounded out parks in my area.
I was running a custom Park 1 set up
Threshold = 0 ( or to your liking)
Target tone = 5
Accept Reject =
t1= -9 to 0
t2= 1 to 11
t3= 12 to 13
t4= 14 to 18
t5= 19 up
Recovery Speed = 5
Target Volume =
t1= 15
t2= 15
t3= 25
t4= 15
t5= 25
Sensitivity 24 ( or to what runs stable)
Manual ground balance
You will most likely dig some iron with these settings but you can cherry pick coins in can slaw.
After digging that Indian under iron I dug everything in the area with a choppy signal. Lol
The Indian cleaned up nice.
