Pottery help.

The first piece with writing on it says "L & G MEAKIR IRONSTONE CHINA". I am not sure if I got all the letters correct. Does anyone know how old it is?
The second piece is brown with no lettering. Anyone recognize these types of pottery/plate?

J & G Meakin, I don't see a printed mark that matches but they show the pre 1890 with pressed mark like yours.
