Well I ask this every year but me and the crew are heading to the upper Potomac for our annual fishing kayaking trip. Ive heard of a Shawnee village south of cumberland md in old town and thats where we put in but have yet to find anything there. We get out at Great Cacapon West Virginia. If anyone has any tips let me know. Ill be hunting hard in between walleye and smallies, Hopefully have some pics when I get back. Best Ive found out there is a pipe from about 100 years ago.

cool pipe. good luck out there . thanks for the look

bsit1361 i know that indians did live all over this area.in fact in the river at Williamsport MD You can still see the remains of a fish pot or fish trap.I have also seen in books that the indians have left symbols along the river in the big slack water area.I live in the area and have not seen them in person but have read about them in books. good luck in your search.

I know big slack. I heard that the big hurricane in the 80s wiped out whole md side of river for miles from the north and south branch connection. oh well im gonna find something wether its an arrowhead or a good time.

yes thats true they have equipment down there now fixing that up. one good place to look on the river is the island below the dam it catches alot of stuff coming down the river when it floods. I have a camper down there some where lol.
