Pot shards or wastage?

I would say you are on the edge of something. Spread out in this area. And find the goodies.

Some sites did not use flint, etc. In NM, I have hunted sites with chards, and no flint. They used sharp bones, and turkey spurs according to people in the know there........ (Around Las Cruces)

I've seen that before and don't know why.

Olroy - I hunted around 'Cruces for year and found sites that didn't use flint, pottery, bone, spurs, antler, anything.... I didn't find squat hunting around there. But to be fair I really only spent five years hunting hard and I didn't know what I was doing.

Hi Twitch,

I have found lots of pottery shards there. and, bone tools. I enjoyed 4-wheeling, and hunting relics there very much

if you are talking about different areas of the same village site. where the same people returned like every summer the potters may have lived in one area near a vain of clay. while the flint nappers lived in an area with other nappers to keep flint flakes in one area not as many children with cut feet and slow to move if needed to move fast. and closer to flint quarry or river if they used river flint..i am not saying this is how it was but could have been this way. who knows not i!!
