Mine was a 72 Volkswagen Beetle. Semi automatic, with a gas heater that didn't work. Yellow and oxidized. It just barely put out enough heat to keep the windshield clear in the winter.

The first day after buying it, I got in to go to school and it would not start. Then I realized the engine was on fire. Fortunately my Dad had two fire extinguishers in his Corvette. Fire quickly put out. It sported the burn marks until right before I sold it. Then Dad sanded it and spray painted a sorta similar yellow over the burns.

My first vehicle was a 1973 Dodge Power Wagon 4 x 4 with eight foot stepside bed. It was kinda' robin egg bluish green or turquoise. I blew the head gasket the first day I owned it going down a swampy mud "road" and drove it like that blowing steam out the tail pipes for about a month. She was a good ol' girl and I abused the dickens out of her.

Needed a bigger boat for my drums, so this was my baby. Not the one pictured. Same color, but had RAISED WHITE LETTERS! Loved that car. And of course we had groupies:laughing7::headbang:29128720002_large.jpg

Oh, now I have to get me one of these for my next metal detecting COMMAND VEHICLE! Too cool & ima DROOL!:love4:
.

I just sold it two years ago. It was neat in the AZ desert, Quartzsite. It was my "Go anywhere machine for snow and MILD off-roading.
It carried me and my GB2 all over the desert.

Just picked this up about 6 months ago.... Should be a fun little project.

1971 Datsun 521 (converted to a flatbed)

You took a Lemon, added some sweetness and got Lemonade. Nice Conversion.

Thanks a bunch .. not as sweet as your VW , but I get a kick out of it. It's a good substitute for the dune buggy I wanted so badly as a kid, but never got.

Some seriously nice rides being posted. Thanks for sharing guys. :icon_thumleft:

My current ride and two project cars. 67 GTO, 50 Pontiac fastback and 39 Pontiac series 28 sedan. The 39 will be my wife's if I live that long! In case you didn't know it I am a Pontiac NUT!
