I have found some very nasty zincolns this year... Here is a few samples of what I'm looking for.

I don't think pic two is a Zlinclon. The fact that they made a hole in at and that hole is not more corroded leads me to believe it is at the very least a copper cent. Could be wrong but that's my opinion.

It is a zincoln in the second picture. the picture is pretty blurry I don't know If someone tried to make it into a necklace but I look at the dates very closely every time I find a coin it is before 1982 good guess though I would have probably thought the same thing

Hey I know they are junk it's just interesting to see how crappy they can get. I have been doing tests on what happens when you shoot them with a pellet gun and they shatter, coppers stop the bullet. It's a shame they stopped making coppers zincs are just such low quality

LOL, I have a 1/4 bowl of unusable Zincolns.

try hunting saltwater - ive got literally 1000's of them as bad or worse
if you get enough and live near a mint - they will supposedly take them back
same with crusty clads

What you do is take your zincolns, put them in a plastic bag and bury them at a heavily hunted park, so some newbie can find his first cache of coins. You could even add a note.

That's a good idea I might have to try it. Only problem is there's not many people who detect in my area

I agree completely. I've found this website very informative and entertaining for a few years now. But the negativity and child-like comments I see more and more makes me walk away from what started out as normal or at least harmless topics. I find myself spending less time here and more at another site that doesn't have the volume of members as this site, but they still have much more common courtesy.
