Post your best spur

This is one I found earlier this year, just after finding the Bronze age axe. I didn't put this on Tnet for 2 reasons, 1. I had just got banner with the axe and I didn't want to be greedy, and 2. my farmer was worried about hawks coming in and damaging his crops. So here is my best spur







It has been confirmed as 14th century

Well this will be a club of 1 I have lots of pieces, & rowels but none I could even glue together apart from a rowel which is miles away from a near full spur

Amazing spur Hammered, I don't have a whole one, but I will play with what I have. I found these years ago at a civil war site. The second pic I am not sure if it is a piece of a spur or not. It has the right curve.

Maybe you can help me figure this one out hammered,to me I've always thought it looked like a spur(size,shape)but have never been able to find one like it.My biggest question first would be did they make them with a detachable rowel. As you can see something surely mounted at that point.It was found on the spoon mold,Rev.War button site.

Its part of a large 18th C shoe buckle, the centre bar went in the hole

Thanks Much Cru, That has bugged me for sometime now. Yes it be large for that putting it on top of my size 12. Never found another like it or seen one that I know of.Sorry hammered best I could do.

Hi John and thanks, the field where I found the spur and the axe is only available for a couple of weeks a year, so I'm hoping for something good next Feb . Your spur looks like it's Georgian to me, like you, I only found fragments and the occasional rowel up until this find. It didn't even sound like iron, a very sweet signal, but then again I'm still learning the Xp

Its not an exact match as yours has a larger arch, but I have seen them like that & that size

Hi Hammered

My first guess was 12th century too. The one in the ukdfd is a near perfect match, but my one has bend arms. That was dated to a later period...
I am just happy with that spur in this condition. To find a complete one together with the buckle is amazing.
But Your iron one complete is the better deal.....
