Here is mine. A large size South Carolina Oval Belt Plate. Carved on back;
"William Reynolds Palmetto Guards."

Eyeballed in a mound of privy dirt in downtown Charleston, S.C. on Confederate Memorial Day!

That really is an amazing plate. I cant imagine what I would feel to find an SC plate in that condition with the soldiers name and unit- and the Palmetto Guards at that! It is hands down the best CS plate that I have seen bar none.

I remember reading a story about you finding that buckle and was amazed. Must have read that story 50 times. That is one special buckle! This one doesn't come close to yours but it is the best one I have found and only took 27 years to find.
