So was hitting the park today, and pulled this guy out...

When I first saw it in the hole, I thought it was an all brass shotgun shell (the park was a private sportsman's club until the 60's), but once I got it out, I could see it was too small. The small bead at the bottom attaches to a plate that slides up and down in the tube, so my next thought was an adjustable powder measure, or a lipstick tube... Only reason I am leaning toward powder measure is I think it is all brass. Also realized once I got home that I didn't put anything in the picture for size reference... I'd say it is about 1/2" in diameter and 2" long. No markings of any kind, just the reeding on the closed side (left in the picture)
