✅ SOLVED Possibly a 1804 Draped Bust Large Cent?

Bought this LC the other day and it was sold as a no date LC. Definitely a draped bust, but the year is very worn. The only number I see is a "4", but that could be wishful thinking on my part. Let me know if you see a 4 or a 9 or whatever!

I honestly don't see anything that stands out to me as a number. It would probably be graded as a P1.

Must be wishful thinking! Here's the photo with the alleged number 4 circled.

I hate to say this, I see the four you circled, but the 1804 coin has a closed triangular top to the four, unfortunately, the upside down "h" four is what I see there. I tried using photo shop type software to bring out some detail, but to no avail, have you tried to do a rubbing.. it may help with this coin ?

You are correct! It's not a 4 and it's not a 9. I'll try to do a rubbing tomorrow and see if I can figure out what year it is. Thanks for your help!

If I were you I would look up online how much it weigh It seems to me like the ware wouldn't effect the weight very much. Hope this helps

The 10.89 grams will tell him nothing that he does not already know.It is a DB.It will not establish the date, that was the question..

I would imaging they didn't make them the same weight every year they were made, and if the date isn't readable it would be impossible to find out the exact date villagenut.... At least that way you might be able to somewhat narrow it down.
