I found this plaque that is made of pot metal and measures about 3.5" square. It was found at a military collectors sale and was just wondering the significance to this piece. It appears to be off a ship but where and when I have no idea. It is marked W.P. XI~~C Deck~~323 311. If anyone knows what this belongs to or a place to search please let me know. Thank you and HH! unnamed-7.jpgunnamed-6.jpg

I wouldn't think anything pot metal would go on a boat.
It would corrode almost instantly.

Wow, clearly I was not thinking, that would fall apart instantly like you said. Must be for something random, the collector had a ton of National Guard stuff so maybe a piece picked up out of a camp or something. Thanks for your reply.

I don't think, IMO, that the letter styles are from the WWII era, and they don't appear to be military. I have nothing to prove that...it is just a hunch.
