A forrest near an old park was clear cut recently to make way for yet another condo complex. The site used to be home to an old horse track. So of course I’m trying to salvage what I can before it’s covered up by asphalt and concrete. This is what I’ve found so far. The D pin looks to be gold plated but I’m hesitant to lemon juice it because I like the green. Back at it tomorrow!

look up harness racing saddle reins guides from back in the day, they had a piece in the center between the two reins guides that this piece could have broken off of.

Could be a broken lever from a single-shot rifle, but they are usually steel not brass like yours appears to be.
