It was another great day hunting in South Georgia. I was able to recover the usual tombac buttons and flat buttons but decided to increase the frequency on the Deus to 74kHz and dug a few unique and cool finds. The silver piece may be a piece of trade silver? I looks purposefully cut and has a hand engraved R. The small axe head is an older style. The gape shot is solid and weighs 8oz. The other iron object apply to be a screw or drill tool of some sort? I initially thought it was a rein guide.

That's some nice relics I like the key
Hope that is trade silver that would be a great piece of history.Pretty cool stuff my friend. Tommy

It's old, possibly trade silver, sometimes it's impossible to tell. That 74 khz is a killer! Higher than any other machine on the market as far as I know and makes a HUGE difference.

thanks!

Ha ha, 2 of my hunting buddies that are currently using Equinox 800's are purchasing the Deus HF Elliptical set up like mine. I told them that I believe the difference between the other machines and the Deus with HF coils is like the difference between your sharpest kitchen knife and a scalpel. Thanks Smokey!

I've been toying with the idea of the HF coils for the Deus. However, once I clear a site with the 11" I don't need to cut though iron, as I've cleared it all. Will the HF coils go any deeper?

Thanks!

On the sites that you hunt, you could set up your HF coil to go deeper on older non ferrous targets. The higher frequencies not only separate well, but they lift the signals for older corroded or just worn non ferrous metal. For instance if you use 12kHz frequency on the LF coil and you get a very faint 85 VDI on a target (assuming it at least 6" deep), you could expect the HF Coil at 26kHz to sound loud and clear on that same target with a 90-92 VDI. All other settings could be the same with TX power 2 for the LF coil. This is just my experience. I believe some of the other experienced users would agree.

You hear many people talk about the high frequencies working well on low to mid conductors. But IMO it works well on the corroded or small non ferrous items regardless of how conductive the metal is. Maybe you could borough someone's HF Coil to test it out? Be careful because you may not want to give it back- especially the Elliptical coil.

You think the Elliptical is the best for depth?

Nice finds - congrats and thanks for sharing the pics!

Did your hunting buddies consider and rule out the ORX with the HF elliptical and why ?

The ORX is a good machine but you canโ€™t set the silencer or tone breaks. So the sites we hunt in the low country it makes more sense for the Deus.

Nice finds Brian!
