Hello,

Does anyone know if there is a online website or maybe a certain keyword to use, if I wanted to search for civil war battles/camps/etc in PA?

Yes, I know PA is very big and I would short the search once I found a website to look this info up. I know some of you will suggest the libary but it will be a long time before I get the chance to goto it. 1. its very far away from where I will be in PA and there hours are not great...its a small town.

SO if anyone knows of a great website to search from, please let me know. I'm trying to keep my son interested in detecting. Thanks for all the help.

Forts, Camps & Batteries of Pennsylvania is available at Kellyco for $18.00.
I'm currently rewriting that volume as I've uncovered new information that will fill in a lot of blanks. Check out my last posting on Minor's Hill, might take some research or get ahold of someone from Geological Survey and they can probably pinpoint it. Also go to any local county courthouse and ask for the old Government Survey Plat Maps. Most were done in the 1850's and they show old forts, pioneer homes, settlements, Indian villages, crossroads, and such. When I get the book done then it will also be available on CD. I just rewrote FC&B of Ohio and will soon have it out in CD.
