Welcome to the site. Well it is a nice looking stone.....but it looks natural to me.
 

My guess is you are going to see "no" written many times. I'm not sure if it is, or isn't. The "V" shaped notch seems to have a smoother texture than the rest of the stone. That is a sigh of either water running over this part or it has been worked by human hands. Regardless of the majority on this site, I would hold on to it. 20 years already, another 20 can do no harm. Let some knowledgable locals hold the stone. Pictures on a phone or PC screen allow less than 10% of an items details to show. Lets see what the other cats tell you.
 

Well any input is appreciated. I am no expert on things of this nature. The top and bottom are very smooth compared to the sides which are rough. And it does look like a notch was cut on the top. Thanks for the info!

Welcome to the forum, I cant help with a Mass. I.D., but I can assure you I would have brought that home as well...very interesting. I hope some can give you some info.
