I dug at a dump yesterday from finds ranging from the 1830's to the 1960's, and found 2 items I'm not too sure about. I found a needle with some kind of medicine still in it and my first thought was a polio vaccine since they were so common in the 50's and most of our finds come from the 50's, so if anyone knows the time period of these kind of needles, please let me know. Also, I found a possible coffee stirring stick from the U.S. army. I was thinking maybe Korean war or Vietnam on that one. If anyone could give me any info on that, it would also be much appreciated. I found 2 nice marbles on that trip too. Thanks for looking and HH

I thought needles were bigger back then... :icon_scratch: I found an old needle from the 1800's but its huge. :dontknow: They did not have the technology back then to make hair thin needles. ??? I'm guessing's yours is a little newer, is it glass or plastic ? :icon_scratch: Cool needle regardless. :headbang: I put a cork on the tip of mine, so no one gets stuck. 8-) You should do the same.

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

That's a good idea a 50+ year old needle would not feel good in your arm! Yes my needle is glass where it holds the medicine and the pump is plastic.

That is scary looking reminds me of my first polio shot..
They lined us up in the school gym and used old needles like that. I watched as they held the needles over a flame to disinfect them and used them over and over. When it was my turn I was so afraid it would be red hot and boy did it hurt. Can you imagine how big and dull those needles were.
Now a days you can hardly feel a shot.

That's very interesting I didn't know that they used the same needles on everyone. Thanks for the story!

That's very interesting I never knew they used to reuse needles. Thank you for the info and story.
