possible old buckle

I have posted this picture before on here, it appears to be a buckle and strap, any information from the buckle experts , may help me determine age of cache, i can not get any better pictures, due to the fact this pile of artifacts lies several hundred feet under ground, while completely under water. It looks unique to me considering how wide the strap is, and the buckle itself. please help me determine its possible age and use. or any other info. matty

So it's under 200 feet of water? Some sort of wreck? What kind of hunting are you doing and, very roughly, where?

no its under 30 feet of water in an under ground river cave system. accessed through a small hole into large room. all completely flooded, not far from saratoga battle in 1777. i must crawl 200 feet under ground to flooded area.
