In my opinion it is not a meteorite. Outside surface should be black. Inner part has some hole (it's pretty rare) and inside are not visible chondrules. Rock looks like melted.
 

Looks like smelter slag. I have a bucket load of it.
 

This is a lightweight sponge rock. It is not a meteorite. It is mostly a volcanic rock or an iron slag.
 

Is there any reason why an apparent volcanic rock would be randomly found at surface leve in the middle of a forest preserve in the Midwest without any other volcanic rocks nearby? Just wondering.
