Any help with an ID on the cone is appreciated! Believe it's made of copper, and the little cap type thing was still lodged in the large end of the cone when I dug it. There's circular incribed ridges inside the smaller end of the cone, almost look like it's threaded on that end, but they don't look like they spiral. Based on research I've done, I've got a sneaking suspicion it MAY be an indian tinkle cone. Haven't found a site/picture that shows a tinkle with a cap on the dangling end (thus making it not tinkle as loudly), but maybe it was made with the cap to be more ornate? Or...maybe it's not a tinkle cone at all..?? The site has significant indian history, colonial, Rev, War of 1812, Civ, you name it. Thus the boot heel plate also found the same day about 50 yards from the cone.
